2026 New Richmond Farmers Market Agreement
The market will be located at River Village Shoppe 310 Washington St., New Richmond, Ohio 45157.
The market will be held every Sunday from 11:00AM to 3:00PM, beginning May 31, 2026, through October 11, 2026.
The cost of a 10’x15’ space is $150 (considered full-time) if attending 12 or more of the 20 scheduled markets and if only on a week-by-week basis, $10 per week. Full time vendors should pay their fees no later than May 30, 2026. Fees are non-refundable and no credits will be issued for missed days. Week to week vendors must notify the market no later than 5:00PM on Thursday if they are participating in that weekend’s market and make their payment for their space at that time.
Products sold must fall into one of the following categories:
Farm meat and produce meat, dairy or produce grown on the vendor’s property. These items must comply with the Ohio Department of Agriculture/US Department of Agriculture regulations and guidelines.
Market goods must be raised, baked or grown within 100-mile radius of New Richmond
Farmers must produce at least 70% of the items they sell. Farmers are allowed to bring in local produce that is purchased from local farmers within the 100 mile radius of New Richmond. This is limited to 30% of the items the vendor sells.
Cottage industry food items produced by the vendor.
Baked goods and processed food items must be made by the vendor in approved production facilities according to the Ohio Cottage Law. Repackaging of purchased goods is not permitted. Vendor must follow all applicable regulations.
Honey must be from the vendor’s hives or from hives on the farmer’s property. Processed honey products or beeswax products must be made by the vendor and follow processed food guidelines.
Artisan products must be made by the vendor using raw materials and preferably be farm or food related (i.e., goat milk soap, herbal tea, etc.), or items that promote health and wellness.
At Market:
All cottage industry products must be labeled as per Cottage Law.
At any time the market manager can visit to verify the product is being grown or produced by the vendor.
The term “certified organic” or “organic” shall not be used without proper governmental certification.
Pricing of products should be the average of current market pricings. Undercutting another vendor’s pricing is not permitted. Vendors must clearly display their pricing.
Each standard vendor booth space will be approximately 10’x15’. If a larger space is desired please contact the market manager in advance to make arrangements.
Vendors found to be selling products which do not meet the standards listed above may have their right to sell at the market revoked and may be asked to leave the premises immediately. Fees will not be refunded or adjusted in the event of suspension.
All scales used must be “legal for trade” and are subject to inspection by county officials.
Vendors must be set up and ready to do business by market start time. Setup begins at 9:30AM.
Spaces for market are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Vendors must remove all waste and personal items before leaving the market premises.
Vendors may only sell products listed and approved on their application.
Vendors must supply all equipment for selling and provide clean/safe tables, baskets, stands, and other display materials.
Vendors must demonstrate respect for all market members.
Vendors are to provide family friendly products.
The market manager has the authority and discretion to remove products that violate these rules such as safety standards, product quality guidelines or “producer-only’ requirements.
Vendors must notify the market of absence at least 24 hours in advance of respective market date, unless otherwise deemed an emergency or related to weather event. Vendors who do not attend more than two scheduled markets without notification will be considered cancelled by abandonment of their space.
Market manager will promote market and vendors through social media and by partnering with local clubs, businesses and groups, email marketing, print media and other promotional avenues. We encourage and ask all vendors to do the same to bring their customers to the market each week.
Clauses:
The market, owner of space, and market manager are solely providing space for the market and vendors assumes no liability for The New Richmond Farmer’s Market, its vendors or customers.
The vendor agrees to pay back to River Village Shoppe any damages caused by breach of this agreement or for damages to the leased premises during the market.
All licensing, taxes, certifications, safety, etc., are the responsibility of the vendor and must be in possession of the vendor while at the market. Vendors selling food products should obtain liability insurance for a farmer’s market.
The vendor shall maintain at their sole expense casualty insurance for the contents of your booth(s) against any loss including Acts of God, which may or may not include any extended coverage.
The vendor hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold the River Village Shoppe harmless from any and all claims or liabilities which may arise from any cause whatsoever as a result of vendor’s use and occupancy of the Premises, and further shall indemnify the River Village Shoppe for any losses which the River Village Shoppe may suffer in connection with the vendor's use and occupancy or care, custody, and control of the Premises. The vendor also hereby covenants and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the River Village Shoppe from any and all claims or liabilities which may arise from any latent defects in the subject Premises that the River Village Shoppe is not aware of at the signing of the lease or at any time during the Term. And the River Village Shoppe shall indemnify the vendor by mutual agreement of any claims, liabilities, etc. which arise due to River Village Shoppe’s responsibilities as identified herein.
Should any conflict arise under this Agreement, the Agreement terms shall be interpreted as a whole and if not agreeable then conflict resolution shall be pursued prior to any lawsuit being filed by either party.
